Infants under the age of 2 can ride for free on the train as long as they sit on the lap of an adult. If you prefer to pay for a separate seat for an infant on the train then include them in the child count box above and list them as age 2. On the motorcoach, infants will always be charged the child rate and receive a separate seat on the motorcoach. Children under the age of 12 are generally half price on both the train and the motorcoach with the exception of the GoldStar Dome where children rates vary.

AlaskaTrain.com only offers online booking for the summer schedule of the three primary Alaska Railroad routes with service to Anchorage, Talkeetna, Denali Park, Fairbanks, Whittier, and Seward. Note that same-day service between Denali or Talkeetna and Seward or Whittier is only available by motorcoach. Tickets are sold by segment (for example, if you’re traveling Whittier to Talkeetna, overnighting, and continuing to Denali Park, you’ll need to purchase separate tickets for each leg.
